Our Story

It all began in the age of rock n’ roll!

A recent grad of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Marty went on to open the #1 restaurant in Philadelphia—The Fountain Restaurant located in the Four Seasons Hotel. After two years, Marty was ready to pursue his own venture. Having grown up in the business as a third-generation restaurateur, Marty was never afraid to take a risk. And out of that fearless ambition, Fearless was born.

In 1985, at just twenty-five years of age, Marty opened his first restaurant Taquet and was featured on the cover of the New York Times. Over the next three decades, he opened a diverse collection of restaurants including La Fourchette in Wayne, PA, Taquet and Bravo Bistro in Radnor, PA, Passerelle, Tango Bar and Grill at the Bryn Mawr Train Station, Basil Bistro in Paoli and Du jour Café in Haverford Square and Philadelphia. In 2003, he purchased the Moshulu followed by Daddy O Restaurant Hotel and White Dog Cafe (University City) in 2009.

Marty's daughter, Sydney joined Fearless as Director of Business Development in 2017, after working as Director of Hospitality for MacAndrew & Forbes in New York City. A fourth-generation restaurateur, Sydney brings a stylish, fresh approach and passion. Today, Fearless Restaurants operates more than 10 unique concepts between Greater Philadelphia and Long Beach Island, NJ.
